Onagwa on the 11th of March, 2011. India on the 11th of March, 2012. And now, 2years past, on the 11th of March, 2013. H.E. Ms.Deep Gopalan Wadhwa decided to deliver 2 persons, T.N. Ananta Krishna and Capt. Inderpal Wallia to the Memorial Ceremony of Onagawa.

Capt. Inderpal Wallia is the person who joined the mission of searching missing persons with NDRF in Onagawa town and acted as mediator between Embassy of India Tokyo, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Indian NDRF. He has come here, Onagawa again since the March 11th disaster on that time.

On the 8th of August, 2012, when it was just the year of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Japan, H.E. Ms.Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa arrived at an ambassador in Japan. She attracted everyone’s attention as the first female Indian ambassador to Japan. It was very impressive that her speech has emphasized the relation of India and Japan Women’s Empowerment, Educational and Cultural interchange especially as a viewpoint of a female diplomat with feminine care and attention on that time.

It had been to heard that she would have like to visited to disaster area, Onagawa just on the 11th of March at the first time in Japan, I also felt it from her strongly, however, She attended at the 2nd Memorial Ceremony which was held on that day from 2: 30 pm at National Theater by the government of Japan as an Indian ambassador in Japan. And she had the moment there with Their Imperial Majesties the Emperor and Empress, The Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe and other attendances as a representative of the Republic of India.

The scene was broadcasted each satellite memorial ceremonies in Japan at the same time. Since then, Embassy of India Tokyo has sent the executive staff to the Memorial Ceremony of Onagawa every year.
