NDRF2011

From March 28th, 2011 to April 10th, we shared the time with Indian National Disaster Response Force, “NDRF” under the disaster, and  Seven days a week, from March 30th to April 5th, we engaged in disaster relief and finding missing persons in Onagawa-town, Miyagi Prefecture. We could see only the trace of the huge tsunami swallowed a town at a breath, thousands and thousands of debris like a mountain and exposed the base of houses on the ground then.

When we arrived at Onagawa-town on the afternoon of 29th, The housing map of Onagawa was handed over the Temporary Emergency Response Headquarter of Onagawa town on the day, however, concerning the daylight hours, it was ended in only on-site inspection on that day, and full-scale searching activities were started on the next day of 30th.

After the mission was completed, the Former Town Mayor of Onagawa, Mr. Nobutaka Azumi and Commandant, Mr. Alok Avasthy clasped hands each other at the Temporary Emergency Response Headquarter of Onagawa where was located in the 1st Elementary School of Onagawa.
